Annie Valerie Dawkins

Departed this life August 10^th, 2023, Annie V Dawkins, age 67, of Henrico, Virginia.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Audrey Mae Bowman- Jones and Marshall Thompson. She is survived by three children; sisters and brothers; several grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.  

Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, Virginia 23220.  where Ms. Dawkins can be viewed all day Friday August 25 and where  services will be held Saturday, August 26^th, 2023 at 1pm. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home at 12:45PM Saturday.

On Thursday August 10, our beloved Annie “Val'' Dawkins of Henrico, Virginia spread her wings to fly with angels in heaven. Val was born June 12, 1956, Richmond, Virginia to the late Audrey B Jones and Marshall Thompson. She attended Richmond Public Schools and enjoyed spending her time with a host of family and friends, too numerous to name. During her journey she met her late husband Preston Dawkins Sr of Rockingham, North Carolina. Later, returning to her hometown working for Henrico County School District and the Voters Polls in the Henrico area for several years.. She leaves to cherish memories with three children; Marquetta A Bowman-Washington (Donte) of Richmond, William L Bowman Sr (Neena) of Maryland, and Yolanda Bowman of Richmond. Several grandchildren; Zha’ Quelle B., Jacquez M., Jamesha W., William B Jr, Akash B., Anya B. and beloved Jaiquan B. Sisters and brothers; Victoria Whitlow, Milton Bowman (Audrey), and Anthony Jones, preceding Belinda Wilkerson, Larry Bowman, and Thomas Jones; and a host of friends and family.
