April Denise Hines Alston, a beloved figure in the Richmond community and a cherished member of her family, was born on October 4, 1965, in Richmond, Virginia. April graced the world with her beautiful spirit until her passing on June 17, 2025.
Her career in the food industry showcased not only her work ethic but also her passion for nourishing others. A proud graduate of Armstrong-Kennedy High School, she carried the values of education and kindness throughout her life, inspiring those around her.
April had a deep love for music, with a special fondness for the tunes of R. Kelly, which often filled her home with joy and memories. Her artistic flair was manifested in her love for painting, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and share her vibrant personality with the world.
April is survived by her husband, Timmie L. Alston, who stood by her side through all of life’s moments. She leaves behind her father, Jerry, stepchildren, Timmie Alston Jr., Deontray Alston, Tequila Barnes, and Deangelo Johnson, along with a host of grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Lawrence and sister Rhonda, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends, all of whom will carry her memory forward.
A funeral service to honor April's life will be held on June 27, 2025, at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home in Richmond, Virginia. The service will begin at 1:00 PM,
April Denise Alston legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Her kindness, musical spirit, and artistic talents will forever remain a source of inspiration to those she left behind.
