Barbara Ann Rhone

Barbara Ann Rhone passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on September 11, 1939, in Richmond, Barbara spent her life rooted in the city she called home.

She was educated in Richmond Public Schools and went on to work in the dry cleaning business. Barbara was known for her bubbly spirit, her wonderful laugh, and the kindness and friendliness she shared so naturally with others. She loved watching television, especially game shows and mystery series, and those simple pleasures were part of the warmth and familiarity that marked her daily life.

Above all, Barbara was proudest of her children. Her family was at the center of her life, and that love remained one of the defining qualities of who she was.

She is survived by her daughter, Druscilla Rhone, and by her son, William Rhone Jr., and his wife, Andrea Rhone, sister-in-law Gladys Jefferson, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  In the love of her family, Barbara’s memory will continue to be carried forward with deep affection.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Rhone Sr., and by her sister, Alberta White. Their memories remained part of the story of her life and the family she cherished.

A funeral service will be held on October 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220.

Barbara Ann Rhone will be remembered for her bright personality, her welcoming nature, and the joy she brought to those around her. May her life be remembered with love and gratitude.
