Bishop Alfred Lee Nicholson 1949-2023
Bishop Alfred Lee Nicholson, 74, Pastor and Founder of Gates of Faith Ministries, COGIC, passed peacefully from Earth to Glory on March 8, 2023 at 7:20pm. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Nicholson, his mother, Ethel Nicholson, and his eldest brother, Alonzo Nicholson Sr. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Iris Meeks Nicholson; his sons, Tiwan Nicholson (Sheronda) and J.Kyle Nicholson (Kesha), 5 Grandchildren, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
Bishop Nicholson's remains will lie in state at 10:00am on 3/24/2023 at Victory Tabernacle Church of God, 11700 Genito Rd, Midlothian, VA 23112. The Homegoing celebration for his Family, Local, District and Jurisdictional assignments will take place on Friday afternoon, 3/24/2023 at 3:00pm. The Homegoing celebration for the National Church of God in Christ, in which Bishop Nicholson served for nearly 47 years, will take place on Saturday Morning, 3/25/2023 at 10:00am at the same location.
There will be a private interment ceremony in Freeman, Virginia, the birthplace of Bishop Nicholson, for his immediate family.
