Our ultimate "Fun Girl," Dale Evans Nnakaenyi, officially gained her wings and flew away to join the ultimate party in heaven on June 19, 2026. After putting up a fierce, valiant fight at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Dale decided it was time to dance on a new stage. She is now joyfully reunited with her mother, Francine Evans; her beloved grandson, Nathaniel Evans; and a host of other loved ones who went before her.

Dale’s story began on October 2, 1964, in Boydton, VA. She moved to Richmond at a young age, where she set out to build a beautiful life and made her mark at Thomas Jefferson High School. To know Dale was to know movement, rhythm, and joy. Growing up, she was the life of the party—always happiest when she was surrounded by family, playing cards, hanging with her crew, cutting a rug on the dance floor, or letting the music carry her away. As time went on, she added "Bingo Queen" to her titles, finding a thrill in the game and the company.

Dale was never afraid of hard work. She dedicated a major part of her adult life to the Vatex Corporation and later brought her hard-working spirit to the Ukrop’s Warehouse. Even when life threw a major curveball and a leg amputation took away her ability to walk, it couldn't touch her spirit. Dale’s joy was unstoppable; she simply found new ways to keep the fun alive.

Becoming a mom at a young age, Dale poured her entire heart into her children. Family was her absolute world, but her grandbabies held the ultimate crown—they weren't just family; they were her best friends. In September 2025, Dale beautifully re-dedicated her life to God, anchoring her faith. Supported by the caring team at DaVita Dialysis Center, Dale insisted on living life entirely on her own terms, squeezing every ounce of joy out of the time she had. She truly lived life to the fullest.

Dale leaves a legacy of laughter and love to be cherished by her three children: Stephanie Evans, Clarissa Evans, and Franklin Greg Jr. Her spirit shines on through her seven grandchildren: Quanesha, Xavier, Deion, Leah, Promise, Jace, and Franklin III.; and her three precious great-grandchildren: Ziyon, Miracle, and Autumn. She will be deeply missed by her four sisters: Vanessa Dickerson(Randy) and Ida Straughter(Calvin) Richmond, VA, Yvonne Payne, and Annielee Baskerville of Boydton, VA; and her seven brothers: Curtis, Danny and, Bradford of Richmond, VA, Wendell Richardson, David, Walter, and Clinton Evans, of Boydton, VA. Her memory will also be honored by her three aunts; Alice “Faye” Simmons of Boydton, VA, JoAnn Barnes, and Daisy Adams of Richmond, VA ; one uncle, Frank "Buddy" Baskerville (JoAnn) of Alberta, VA; her devoted life companion, Dexter Bryant; and her fiercely loyal best friends, Mary Marks, Diane Wilson, Robin Reevey, Joy Haskins; alongside a vast host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be forever in our hearts and missed.
