Born on July 5, 1933, in Richmond, Virginia, she graced the world with her exceptionally friendly and lovely personality. Dorothy was known for her outgoing nature, making friends effortlessly and touching the lives of many around her.
Her career in retail at Harpers Department Store showcased her dedication and commitment to serving others, reflecting the warmth and kindness she exuded in all areas of her life. As a graduate of the Armstrong Class of 1952, she carried with her a sense of pride in her education and community involvement.
Dorothy’s vibrant personality shined brightest during gatherings, where her love for singing and dancing could be witnessed. Those who knew her would often recall her as the favorite aunt, a title she wore with grace and joy. Her laughter and spirit will continue to echo in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving nieces Shirley Williams, Dr. Ruth Epps (Dr. Thomas Epps), Charlene Frederick (Ben), and Ruth B. Trent, as well as a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins, and other relatives, including her devoted friend Glennwood Rhodes.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Marena B. and Willie E. Williams Sr., brother Willie Williams Jr., sisters Ruth Clark Burson, Helen Valentine and Charlotte Williams
A memorial service will be held to honor Dorothy on January 16, 2026, at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home in Richmond, Virginia. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.
Her legacy of love and friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Dorothy Ann Nicholas may have left this earth, but her spirit will continue to dance in the memories of her loved ones.
