Elana Shanice Harrison, affectionately known as Lana, was born on July 5, 1992, in Richmond, Virginia. She departed this world on January 13, 2026, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, determination, and a vibrant spirit.
Elana was a graduate of Richmond Public Schools, where she began cultivating her strong will and focused approach to life. Throughout her career, she showcased her work ethic and dedication at various positions, including her notable tenure as a cashier. Her experience extended to service at Amazon and other jobs, all of which she undertook with the same concentration and commitment that she brought to every aspect of her life.
Known for her engaging personality, Lana loved having intellectual conversations that challenged her thoughts and beliefs. She was kind, friendly, and outgoing, often extending a helping hand to those in need. Elana's interests were as diverse as her personality; she had a passion for fashion, cherished the art of doing hair, and held a particular fondness for jewelry.
Elana is survived by her four beloved sisters: Amanda Harrison, LaCresha Harrison (Percell), Shinita Banks, and Tanika Hood. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Samuel Jr. and Eugene Harrison. Adding to her family are her great aunt, Gwendolyn Barnhart; uncle, Ralph Barnhart; and great uncle, Reginald Barnhardt. Elana is remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who were touched by her warmth and authenticity.
Elana was preceded in death by her parents, Joann Harrison Martin, Juanita Banks, and Reginald Henley. Their cherished memories will forever be intertwined with her legacy.
In honoring her life, family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service, held on January 23, 2026, at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home located at 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220. The service will commence at 10:30 AM.
Elana Shanice Harrison will be deeply missed, but her spirit, laughter, and unwavering support for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
