Listen to Obituary

Foster Bradford “Brad” Morris was born on February 13, 1951. After a prolonged struggle with renal failure, he passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026.

Brad was a proud graduate of Buena Vista High School in Saginaw before attending Michigan State University for a year. He then went on to earn an Associates degree in Surgical Technology from Delta College before furthering his medical studies at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, where earned another Associates in the Physician Assistant (PA) program. Upon returning to Michigan, Brad came to East Lansing for an externship with athletic teams at Michigan State University, while studying for the PA Board exams. This is where he met his lifelong and devoted friend Elliot Frank. Upon successful completion of his PA certification, he retained employment at Northwest General Hospital in Detroit.

It was at Northwest General Hospital where Brad met Dr. Patricia Jo Rodgers, on a fateful day in October, 1981 when she was covering a shift for a fellow physician. Brad and Patricia were wed on November 2, 1983, in a ceremony held at the bride’s parents’ home, which began a union that lasted for 42 years.

Brad will be remembered not only for his 30 years in the practice of medicine, but for his love of travel, especially to Jamaica and Mexico; his epicurean tastes, his sartorial splendor, his love for books and movies; and his love for jazz and Reggae music.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Bradford Morris; his nephew Reginald “Reggie” Morris; and his brother-in-law Dave Young. He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Dr. Patricia Rodgers; children Lauren “Leo” Morris and Randall Morris of New York, NY; his sister Gertrude Young of Saginaw, MI; nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who were touched by his dry wit and long, stimulating conversations.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Third Street Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 614 N. 3rd St., where the family will receive friends at 10:00am. Rev Reuben Boyd, Pastor, Officiating.
