Geraldine DeHanna Bannister

Mrs. Geraldine Tisdale Bannister, age 87, of Richmond, departed this life on December 10, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bannister, and one son, Vernon Bannister. 

She is survived by one sister, Kathleen Tisdale Jones(Reginald); one brother, Joseph Tisdale(Ann); four aunts, Lucy Douglas, Loretta Tisdale, and Mildred & Mary Hutchenson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, among them Wanda McGee(William) and Freddie Rainey(Gwen); two sisters-in -law, Joan Tisdale and Bessie Coleman; one brother-in-law, Willie Lee Bannister Sr.; other relatives and friends, among them, Betty Odom and her godson, Tony Gatewood. 

Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mrs. Bannister can be viewed on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, 12 noon, at The Church of God in Richmond, 300 W. Roanoke Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral time. Apostle Michael Bennett, Officiating. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church on Monday, at 11:45am.
