Departed this life May 13, 2026. Harvey Lee Carey, age 86, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife Minnie Carey; two daughters Veda Carey and Chevon Carey Pollock; one son Harvey Carey Jr.; three grandchildren Eric Martin, Aaron Carey and Aloni Carey; one great grand daughter Alaia Deluca; four sisters Doris Mondrey, Carrie Mondrey, Viola Pegram and Joan Macklin; three brothers James Bowles(Cecelia), John Carey(Pearl) and Clarence Carey(Brenda); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters in law Trenna Jackson(Wayne) and Hattie Carey; and other relatives and friends. 

Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Mr. Carey can be viewed on Monday. May 25, 2026, from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 1:00pm, at Riverview Baptist Church, 2604 Idlewood Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral time. Rev. Frank Branch III, Pastor. Entombment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 12:45pm on Tuesday.
