Helen Pauline Dixon, a beloved member of her community and a cherished family figure, passed away on November 5, 202, at the age of 91. Born on December 25, 1933, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was a gentle soul who made a lasting impact on those around her.
Helen dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hermitage Methodist Home, demonstrating her loving and compassionate nature. She was known for her sweet demeanor and ability to connect with people, making her a treasured companion to many.
An alumna of Middlesex County Public Schools, Helen embraced lifelong learning and had a variety of interests that included reading, sewing, and solving crossword puzzles. She was particularly proud of her identity as a Christian woman, a role that shaped her values and nurtured her loving spirit.
She is survived by her three adoring daughters, Deborah Redmond (George), Bessie Banks (Frank), and Beverly Bacote (Dexter). Her legacy continues through her four sons, Anthony (Queen), Marvin, Pernell (Robin), and Myron Dixon. The family rejoices in the memory of Helen, who is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Elzena Wake, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Samuel D. Dixon, son Larry Dixon and her parents, Thelma and Prentis Wake.
Her funeral service will be held on November 13, 2025, at 1 PM at the Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home, located at 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and celebrate a life devoted to love, kindness, and community.
