Henry Rahming, Jr. who was affectedly called Junior spent his formative years in the South Bronx, New York City. He was educated through the New York City Department of Education. Henry graduated from Alfred E. Smith Career & Technical Education High School.
Henry Rahming, Jr. passed on September 9, 2023 at Sentara Hampton Hospital. He was 68years old.
Upon graduation from high school, Henry became a truck driver. He often shared interesting stories of some of his experiences. He was able to retire from this profession as he pursued other interests. Henry was a sharp dresser in his younger days and loved to listen to the iconic Mr. James Brown all day and all night. His favorite James Brown song was “I Feel Good”. He also had the nick name “Crazy Horse”. He worked hard and in his youth enjoyed playing cards with his siblings and cousins. Henry attended church regularly, Sunday school and sang on the young adult choir at First Glorious Church, Bronx, New York.
Henry Rahming, Jr., was preceded in death by the following: his wife, Mildred Rahming, daughter, Ina Rahming, father, Henry L. Rahming, Sr., mother, Irene Rahming and brother, Rodney D. Rahming.
Henry Rahming, Jr. is survived by his children, Africa Rahming, Ebony Rahming, Henry Randolph Rahming, granddaughters Shajvion Lee, Ashanti Lee, Shy-yonte’ Eaton and Christshiona Eaton and great grandson Excel Shelton and great great granddaughter Emparice Chandler. Also, two sisters, Wilhelmina Williams and Etta Rahming along with numerous cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral on Saturday October 7 at 11AM . Viewing of the body will take place all day Friday October 6.
