SMITH, Henry Louis “Doc,” age 83, of Richmond, Virginia, departed this life on April 24, 2026. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sallie Smith; one daughter, Almeater Alston (Breck); one son, Louis Smith; seven grandchildren, Brittany Reed (Jonathan), Louis Sykes, Aaron Sykes, Julius Sykes, Taylor Rawlings, Jourdan Smith, and Jarrod Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Zaire Clay, Amirah Thrower, Malyla Sykes, Jonah James Henry Reed, Samuel Reed, Levi Reed, and Jude Reed; one brother, Joe Galbreth; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Harris; brothers-in-law, Earleen, Edward, Roy (Katherine), and Clifton Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mr. Smith may be viewed Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Tommy Fleming officiating. Interment private. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
