Jacqueline Evette McClain, born on September 29, 1957, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Her passing marks the end of a beautiful and impactful life, lovingly remembered by family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jacqueline was a proud graduate of John Marshall High School and went on to pursue her calling by attending nursing school. Her compassion, determination, and steadfast sense of purpose led her to a distinguished career as a nurse at the Virginia Home. Jacqueline found immense pride in her work, touching countless lives through her dedication to caring for others. Her role as a nurse was more than a profession—it was a testament to her gentle spirit, strength, and unwavering commitment to those in need.
Known for her outspoken and direct nature, Jacqueline also radiated warmth and sweetness. She was a person who spoke from the heart and acted with sincerity, making an impression that lingered long after any conversation or encounter. Jacqueline enjoyed shopping and cherished the moments spent going out with her friends; these vibrant social connections enriched her life and brought her great joy.
Jacqueline’s legacy is lovingly held by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughter, Dashiki McClain; her sister, Deloris Jeffries(Walter); her brother, William McClain(Terri Muhammad); as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives. Each carries forward the memory of her kindness, honesty, and the special bond they shared.
She is reunited in rest with her beloved son, Vashon McClain, her father, Elijah McClain, and her mother, Doris Tillman.
Throughout her life, Jacqueline was a pillar of strength and compassion—a woman who lived authentically, served selflessly, and embodied both resilience and tenderness. Her proudest accomplishment was the impact she made in her esteemed nursing career, but those close to her also remember the way she made family gatherings warmer and friendships deeper.
Though her passing leaves sadness in the hearts of many, Jacqueline Evette McClain’s legacy will endure through the love she gave, the lives she helped heal, and the memories she created. Her story will be cherished always, and her spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
