Peacefully entered eternal rest August 5th, 2023. James Edward Trent, age 66, of Farmville. He was a member of Star Fellowship Baptist Church where he was trustee emeritus and a member of the male usher board. “Trent”(as he preferred to be called) was a past master of Jonathan Lodge #112(Prince Hall Affiliated). He was also a member of Richmond Consistory #22(PHA).

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Trent. He is survived by two sons, Jermaine and Corey(Shanta) Trent; four grandchildren, Jermaine Jr., Corey Jr, Benda J. and Jada Trent; two aunts, Irene Stokes and Clara West; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; five sisters- in- law, Diane Evans, Rita Delaney, Frances Jenkins, Cynthia Brown and Marinda Robertson; three brothers- in- law, Eddie Brown, James Jenkins, and Willie Evans; and other relatives and friends among them his devoted companion, Marilyn Harris. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Trent was a long time and beloved staff member. There, he will be viewed on Thursday August 17th from 10AM to 8PM. He will also be viewed at Bland Reid Funeral Home, 413 Griffin Blvd, Farmville, Virginia on Friday August 18th from 11AM to noon, followed by graveside services at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, 1428 Tuggle Road, Farmville, Virginia at 1PM. Dr. Ronald Taylor off.
