J.D. Shipman

J.D. Shipman, age 87, of Richmond, departed this life on January 4, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Betty Shipman; one daughter, Tammy Shipman; one son, Joseph Davis; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Shipman; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and friends. 

Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mr. Shipman can be viewed on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00am to 8:00pm, and where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 1:00pm. Dr. Rebecca Griffin, Officiating. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral at home12:45pm on Saturday.
