Jean Claudette Herbert

Mrs. Jean C. Herbert, age 87, of Richmond, departed this life on September 14, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas A. Herbert Sr., and one daughter, Dakota Johnson. She is survived by three daughters, Yolanda Herbert, Yvette Hayes (Paul) and Karen Herbert-Gilliam; two sons, Douglas Herbert Jr. (Janelle) and Thomas Herbert (Alex); nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister-in-law, Bertha Johnson; other relatives and friends. 

Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mrs. Herbert can be viewed on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 1:00pm, at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, 14 W. Duval Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral time. Rev. Tyrone Nelson, Pastor, Officiating. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 12:45pm on Saturday.
