Lillie Mae Clark was born on June 1, 1936 in Nathalie, Virginia to the late Meadie Perkins and Lillian Easley Perkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Clark, brother, Meadie Perkins, Jr., and sister, Hattie Marie Brown.

Lillie grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Randolph Elementary School, Moore Street Junior High School and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1954. After graduating from Armstrong High School, she attended Virginia Union University graduating in 1958 with a BA degree in Elementary Education, Secondary in English.

She met and married her first husband, William McDonald, Jr in 1955, they moved to Pennsylvania in 1959. She was a substitute teacher in the Philadelphia and Chester, PA School Systems. Later she took graduate courses in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania and Bryn Mawr College. She was a Caseworker with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and moved up the ranks to Casework Supervisor. She married her second husband, Eddie Clark in 1982. She retired as a Training Supervisor in 1990 and shortly thereafter, she and Eddie moved back to Richmond, Virginia.

Lillie joined Fifth Baptist Church in 1946 and was very active until she moved to Pennsylvania. She served as a Sunday School Teacher; she was a member of the Junior Usher Board and the Choir. She was the first youth to make church announcements, under the leadership of the church Clerk, Robert Spurlock. Lillie maintained her Church membership during the 30 years she lived away in Pennsylvania. Upon her return, she became active with the Singles Ministry at Fifth Baptist, serving as secretary.

She enjoyed playing scrabble and going on bus trips sponsored by the City of Richmond, Recreation and Parks and playing board games with the younger members of her family.

Lillie enjoyed helping PEOPLE…….Once A Social Worker always A Social Worker!

Lillie leaves to cherish her memories two nieces, Stephanie Dillon and Lolita Brown; nephew, Louis Brown, Jr.,(aka Boonie); great niece and nephews, Takita Bonapart (Louis), Jelani Brown and Jalen Brown; great-great niece and nephew, Micah McCall and Malachi McCall, a host of loving family members, devoted cousin, Joanne Malone (Jimmy); step-children, Constance Morgan, Belinda Stewart (George), Tanya Clark, Nicho Pruett (Willie), Anthony Clark, Stephon Majors, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and friends.
