Marguerite Blanch Batter

Marguerite Blanch Batter, who was born on February 15, 1931, passed away on September 15, 2026.

Marguerite will be remembered as a vibrant, fashionable, and very classy woman whose compassionate nature, big heart, and sense of humor touched many lives. She loved to help others, and that generosity of spirit was a defining part of who she was. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply her warm presence, she brought comfort and joy to those around her.

She was educated at JR Tucker High School in Henrico County and went on to serve her community as a retired Sheriff Deputy for Richmond City. Her working life reflected dedication and commitment, and she carried herself with strength and purpose. In addition, Marguerite was a women of immense faith. Her devotion was evident in her spreading the word and through biblical study.

Outside of her career, Marguerite found happiness in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking, especially making cakes. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, who were at the center of her life and among her greatest joys.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Cheryl Fleming and Valarie Fleming; her grandchildren, LaShonda Bennett, Montre Fleming, and Shanika Fleming; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Batter, and her daughter, Karen Fleming. May the love she shared and the memories she created continue to live on in all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on September 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn, 13389 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059.

Marguerite Blanch Batter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
