Monique Dashawn Lewis~Bishop

Monique Dashawn Lewis~Bishop passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 33. Born on October 29, 1992, Monique lived a life marked by love for her family, a vibrant spirit, and a caring presence that touched those around her.

Monique was educated at George Wythe High School in Richmond, Virginia. She went on to serve her community as a PCA, caring for those in need with compassion and dedication. Her work reflected the kind of person she was—someone who gave of herself to help others and brought comfort through her presence.

She was known for her amazing personality, her infectious laugh, soft voice and her beautiful smile. Monique loved her family deeply, and that love was at the heart of her life. Among her proudest accomplishments was being a loving mother, a role she embraced with devotion and pride.

Outside of her work and family life, Monique enjoyed working on cars, doing hair, and training dogs. These interests spoke to her energy, skill, and the joy she found in staying busy and caring for the things and people around her.

Monique leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Anthony Bishop; her son, Zai'Veon Tyler; her mother, Tyeta Lewis; her father, Byron Winkcler; her sisters, Nicole Lewis and Tytiana Jones; and her twin brother, Dominique Lewis, several aunts and uncles, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends. She will be remembered with deep love by her family and by all who were blessed to know her.

A funeral service will be held on October 14, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220.

Monique’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, sustained by the laughter she shared, the care she gave, and the love she poured into her family.
