Robert Thomas Brown, affectionately known as "Shorty Brown," was born on July 7, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia. He lived a life marked by joy, laughter, and a spirited personality that brought happiness to all he met. Robert was educated in the Richmond Public Schools, where he laid the foundations for a life of hard work and dedication. He spent some years in service as a maintenance worker at Richfood Warehouse, showcasing his commitment and diligence in every endeavor.
Robert’s love for life was mirrored in his interests. He was an avid football fan, particularly devoted to the Dallas Cowboys. Many cherished moments were spent sitting outside with family, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the company of loved ones. His outgoing nature allowed him to forge meaningful connections with those around him, making him a beloved figure within his community.
On October 10, 2025, the world lost a vibrant soul. Robert is survived by one loving sister, Shirley Turner, and one brother, Herbert Brown. He leaves behind two sons, Tony and Vince Curtis, who will carry forward his legacy. Additionally, his family includes two nieces, Sharlene Fowler (Fred) and Senora Turner; a nephew, Andrew Turner; a host of great nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
Preceding him in death were his beloved parents, Sallie and Roy E. Brown, who valued family above all and instilled in Robert the love and appreciation for togetherness.
The funeral service to honor Robert will be held on October 18, 2025, at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, located in Richmond, Virginia. It will commence at 1:00 PM,
