Sarah Annie Bea Williams passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 27, 1943, Sarah lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and devotion to those around her.
She was educated in Brunswick County Public Schools and went on to work in housekeeping at Sunset Manor. Sarah was known for her caring nature and for the great smile that could brighten a room. She also loved gardening, especially planting flowers, and found joy in the beauty and peace it brought.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, George Williams, and by her mother and father, Sarah and John Stokes.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always. She is survived by her sons, Eddie Philips, Sylvester Phillips and his wife Julie, and Ronald Phillips and his wife Kiyoka. She is also survived by her sisters, Claudia Kinchen, Edith Goodman, and Sally Coleman, and by her brother, Williams Stokes Sr., eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends. Their love, shared memories, and the example Sarah set through her kindness and gentle spirit will remain a lasting blessing in their lives.
A funeral service for Sarah Annie Bea Williams will be held by on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Stony Point Presbyterian Church, 2330 Buford Road, Bon-Air, VA 23235.
Sarah Annie Bea Williams will be remembered with love for her gentle heart, her beautiful smile, and the joy she found in caring for others and tending her flowers. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
