Teri was a proud graduate of Huguenot High School, part of the Richmond Public Schools system. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself as a forklift driver at NAPA and Virginia ABC, where his strong work ethic and reliability were well respected by colleagues and supervisors alike. Beyond his professional contributions, Teri was known for his fun-loving nature and vivacious personality—often described as the life of the party. His love for cooking brought joy to those around him, and his passion for music saw him frequently go dancing and DJ parties, adding rhythm and energy to many celebrations.
A man who always cherished family conversations, Teri created lasting memories with those who had the privilege to know him. His presence was one of joy and engagement, effortlessly drawing people together through laughter, music, and shared stories.
Teri is survived by his devoted mother, LaVerne Washington; father, Garfield Washington; and sister, Keisha Crump, along with her husband Kelvin. He was a proud father to six children: Terri Caldwell (Jaivon), DeMonte Washington, Shaqwanna Washington, Markita Thompson, DeNae Threatts (Dermon), and DeJuan Smith. His legacy also includes eighteen grandchildren, five nephews, two great-nephews, and one great-niece, as well as a wide circle of loving cousins and relatives. Among them devoted ex-wife, Rhonda Washington held a special place in his life as a companion and confidante.
Teri was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gladys and Charles Pegeas; paternal grandparents, Mary and Luther Washington Sr.; and dear aunt and uncles: Mary Thomas, Edward Thomas, and Luther Washington Jr.
His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him, yet his spirit lives on through the stories, music, and joyous gatherings he so deeply cherished. Teri Monte Washington will be remembered not only for his commitment to family and friends but also for the light he brought into every room.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
