Walter B. Fountaine

Departed this life January 7th, 2024. Walter B.”Birdie” Fountaine Sr., age 83, of Richmond. He was a past polemarch of his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was also a past master of his lodge, Commonwealth Lodge #81 and a past potentate of Mocha Temple No. 7(both Prince Hall Affiliated). He was deacon emeritus of Riverview Baptist Church where he was a member for over 50 years.   Mr. Fountaine is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years,  Joyce Fountaine; one son, Walter B. Fountaine Jr.; one brother,  Martin L. Fountaine Jr.; one aunt, Eva Scott; two nephews; a host of cousins; two sisters- in- law, Marcia Allen and Earnesta Perez(Juan); and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends along with organizational ceremonies Monday at 6:30PM and where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM. Rev. Dr. John Johnson Jr off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 10:45AM Tuesday.
