Mr. Willie J. Jackson was born to A. J. Jackson and Bertha M. Jackson on June 4, 1954, in Elizabethtown, N.C. He departed this earthly life on May 14, 2025.Willie attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Huguenot High School.
He began a career in the transportation industry and earned his CDL at an early age. He recently retired from Fort Myer Construction in Washington, D.C. However, instead of settling into retirement, Willie chose to continue his career in trucking and started driving for Hajoca. It didn’t take long before his willingness to help others, his ability to crack jokes, and his dedication to highlighting God’s word endeared him to all who came into contact with him; they quickly became a second family to him. Willie was truly a man of faith and made certain to include a scripture in most conversations he had. He was ordained a minister in 1997 by Apostle I. V. Hilliard of Houston, Texas.
Willie leaves behind to cherish his memories three children: a devoted daughter, Kasheka Monique Alston; daughter, Corine Jackson Berry Boobee); and son, Micheal Jackson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Javon, Jamahri, Erika, Jeremiah, Adia, Christian, Camryn, Jacob, and Camille and two great-grandchildren. Additionally, he had a devoted friend, Vernice Alston. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
Willie was predeceased by his brother, Dallas Glen Jackson, who now joins him in eternal rest. Willie will be profoundly missed by those who knew him and loved him dearly. Whether he was building and racing cars, enjoying a card game, playing pool, trying to teach his grandkids his karate moves, or simply having a good time joking around, his charisma and bold, fearless personality brought joy to everyone around him. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will forever remain in our hearts.
