Dr. Patricia Jane Turner-Olds eternally rested on September 1, 2021.  She was born on October 13, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to Dicy Jane Stephens and Raymond Turner, Sr., who preceded her in death.  She was blessed to have four siblings: Priscilla Jane (Willard) Brown, Raymond (Julia) Turner, Robert (Mary) Turner, and Leon Stephens.

Dr. Turner-Olds gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she sang in the choir. 

She is survived by her husband, Willie James Olds on March 28, 1970.  They have 5 children.  Dicy Patrice Olds-Moore, William (Billy) Alex Olds, Kwame Leon (Adrienne) Olds, Robert Darryl Duane Olds, and Angilee Gessner.  They are the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren: Tiffany (Joshua) Blaine, Kayla Patrice Olds, Taylor Nicole Clawson, Morgen Simone Moore, Tamia Brianna Olds (deceased), Tyra Bianca Olds, Kamryn Sierra Olds, Miles James Moore, Bryson Tyrone Olds, Madison Patricia Olds, Isaac Dominique James Olds, and Hailey Priscilla Jane Olds.  2 great-grandchildren: Lena Olds and Luke Skylar Blaine.

Reverend Turner-Olds earned a Master’s of Divinity Degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology and her Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  After which she was ordained by Dr. F. Todd Gray, the pastor of Fifth Street Baptist Church in July 2003 where she served as an Associate Minister, Minister of Missions, and Director of Vacation Bible School.  She assisted in the further development of the Deacon Jennie M. Shaw Scholarship Foundation.

She continued her education by receiving her Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Education from Columbia Theological Seminary in May 2015 after completing and defending her dissertation, “Digital Griot Intergenerational Faith Formation.”  

Her memorial service will be available to view via livestream on Saturday, September 11 at 3pm.
